Tower Saint John’s Imaging is always looking to add experienced
healthcare professionals to our team environment. We offer highly

for a Part-Time, experienced PET/CT Technologist for a busy Imaging
Center. Our practice is perfectly located in Santa Monica, CA .
Applicant must have AART certificate or NMTCB, CA state
certification from the Department of Public Health, CPR and
venipuncture. Minimum of 1 years of experience. Essential
Responsibilities Competent in performing PET/CT scans, including
bone and brain. Trained in quality control for PET/CT imaging
systems and radiation devices on daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly,
and annual basis as needed. Perform high quality PET/CT exams on
incoming patients. Assure proper doses are ordered for each day.
Monitor patients' wellbeing during exam; recognize patient
discomfort or medical problems and take appropriate action. Guide
patients through this sometimes-difficult process by kindly talking
to them through the steps and answering questions and concerns
regarding exam procedures and process. Respond to Physician
questions regarding patients. Participate in research projects and
or meetings, and complete other tasks as assigned by Lead PET Tech.
Core Job Duties Communicates effectively and courteously with all
internal and external contacts. Uses skill and judgment to ensure
written and verbal outputs are clear, accurate, grammatically
correct, and professional. Maintains current knowledge of company
policies and procedures. Meets all applicable safety regulations
for the position and work environment, including prompt injury and
incident reporting and use of personal protective gear when
required. Uses critical thinking skills to work with documents and
forms and interprets information furnished in written, oral,
diagram, drawing or schedule format. Able to review quantitative
and qualitative work and identify questionable items. Meets time
and attendance requirements and organizes workload to meet daily
objectives. Other duties as assigned. Other Duties Other duties
include but not limited to checking in/out radiation packages,
taking accurate patient histories, starting IV's, proper
handling/injection of isotopes, and writing protocols when needed.
Ability to perform diagnostic CT a plus. Maintain records,
radiation waste logs, radiation badges, radiation safety training,
imaging the phantom (quarterly) after GE performs PM, and 12-hour
normalization. Responsible for scheduling physicist for quarterly
check on equipment, records, and linearity, assist physicist with
annual ACR, and GE engineer for quarterly maintenance. Work closely
with RSO to keep appropriate records reviewed and signed.
Requirements: Education and Experience Education – Completion of
ACR approved school for Nuclear Medicine. Work Experience – 1 year
experience of PET/CT or similar relevant experience. Certifications
and Licensures – Current CRT License, State certified Nuclear
Medicine Technologist with Radiology and/or CT certification,
current ARRT Certificate, CT, RT (X-ray), current BLS provider
card, and Venipuncture Certificate. Medical – Strong working
knowledge of medical terminology and cross sectional anatomy.
Equipment –CT, PET, and X-Ray equipment; computers. Knowledge and
Skills Knowledge of blood borne pathogen requirements and MRI
safety. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
Ability to work flexible schedules as needed. Strong organizational
skills, problem solving skills, basic computer skills. Working
knowledge of Radiation Safety, GE scanner, Exleris platform, Hot
Lab Syntrex, Atombomb well counter and dose calibrator, Ludlum
survey meters, and Landauer film badges. Physical Requirements and
Exposures Frequent standing, walking and sitting, occasional
bending, stooping, kneeling and crouching. Occasional lifting of
materials weighing up to 30 pounds. Exposure to potential hazards
such as radiation emitting equipment , extreme heat or cold,
chemicals, bio-hazard waste and sharp instruments. Noise level:
typical of an office and medical clinic environment. Additional
Information Must be willing to work overtime when requested and
authorized. Responsible for completion of continuing education
credits sufficient to retain current licensure at own cost and on
own time.
