Job Description:
We are seeking an Temp Part-time MDS Assistant to join our team!
Under the direction and supervision of the MDS Coordinator;
collects and assesses information for the health and well-being of
all residents according to OBRA and PPS guidelines. Assists in
providing a clean, safe, happy and healthy environment for
residents by performing the duties as described below.MDS Assistant
Requirements:Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 including
boosterCurrent and valid CA State Nursing LicenseExceptional
mathematical skills and ability to apply them to tasks such as
analysis of variance and sampling theoryDeep medical terminology
knowledgeExperience in a clinical and healthcare setting
preferredDemonstrable knowledge of state and federal
regulationsPrimary MDS Assistant Duties and
Responsibilities:Participate in the admission process of
prospective residents in terms of their nursing needs and
appropriate placementDetermine potential Resource Utilization
Groups (RUGs) and expense associated with a potential
admissionReview all applications for admission, followed by on-site
or phone assessment and communicate results of assessment to the
Admissions CoordinatorComplete and assure the accuracy of the MDS
process for all residentsMaintain current working knowledge of
Medicare criteria, serving as a resource for nursing staff and
communicate changes in regulationsMonitor Case Mix Index (CMI)
scores, looking for potential risks and/or changes that may affect
Medicaid reimbursementFacilitate problem-solving for complicated
admissionsMonitor Medicare assessment schedules and nursing
documentation to ensure accuracy and timely submissionOther duties
may be assignedPAY SCALE: $34 - $35 / HourDepending on a number of
factors, including, but not limited to location, regularly
scheduled work shift, knowledge, skills, experience, and
