About this Position: -
As the Safety Strategy Leader, you will be responsible for formulating, executing, and overseeing the holistic safety strategy across the enterprise. This role will provide vision and strategic leadership for all NA Safety related activities that will achieve the HM 2030 Vision and the 2020 WESCC target of Zero Fatalities in 2W/4W by 2050. This will include all aspects of the Haddon Matrix (technology, human, process), guiding the entire SED-disciplinary group as the authorized RSSC Secretariat responsible to HM, and NA Senior Executives.

Responsibilities include:

  • - - - - - - Safety Strategy Development: Develop and Lead the implementation of a comprehensive safety strategy that aligns with regulatory standards, industry best practices, and our commitment to innovation
  • - - - - - - Regional Safety Strategy Committee Secretariat
  • - - - - - - Safety Culture: Through Leadership, Build & Foster a culture of product safety within the organization by providing training, setting safety KPIs, and promoting safety awareness
  • - - - - - - Leadership and Team Management: Lead, Assemble, Guide and Mentor a team of safety disciplinary professionals, providing resources and internal consensus building to ensure the successful execution of safety initiatives
  • - - - - - - Safety Data Analysis: Establish and Manage data analysis function, including risk assessment techniques, to identify potential safety opportunities within vehicle technology, human education/training, and policy authoring to allow for the implementation of improvement themes and projects
  • - - - - - - Safety Communication Plan: - Lead the internal & external messaging about Honda's Safety activity in NA, targeting associates, customers, regulatory agencies, and NGOs
  • - - - - - - Emerging Technologies: Lead the investigation of emerging technologies and safety trends, and proactively integrate them into the product development process.
  • - - - - - - Regulatory Compliance: Work collaboratively with Regulatory organization to ensure the company's compliance with global safety regulations and work with regulatory bodies to advocate for improved safety standards
  • - - - - - - Product Safety: Work collaboratively with Research & Design organization in the development of safety features and systems in vehicles, from conceptualization through production and post-market monitoring.
  • - - - - - - Safety Testing and Validation: Work collaboratively with Test organization to establish and manage rigorous safety testing protocols and validation procedures, covering controlled environments and real-world scenarios
  • - - - - - - Crisis Management: Develop and execute crisis management plans for safety-related incidents, ensuring swift and effective responses to market issues -

    Who we are seeking:
    Required Work Experience:
  • - - - - - - 15 years, with background in safety strategy, planning and project execution
  • - - - - - - 10 years project management
  • - - - - - - Demonstrated leadership through hierarchy and influence

    Required Education:
  • - - - - - - Bachelor's degree in Engineering
    Desired skills:
