Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Physical Security
Superintendent/Technician with 5-7 years of hands-on experience in
IP/CCTV Surveillance. As a key member of our team, you will work in
the field, collaborating closely with other technicians. Your
expertise in CCTV, IP Video Surveillance, and Access Control
systems will be instrumental in ensuring the successful
implementation and maintenance of physical security systems.
Workdays and Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Major Areas of Responsibilities
- Defines and oversees implementation and industry best practices
on installations and services.
- Oversees the successful evaluation and testing of existing
systems, and/or implementation of new systems.
- Supervises the installation, replacement, and upgrade of all
types of Security deployments.
- Perform site surveys and quote installation estimates for
security projects
- Manage client sign-off and document project details
- Coordinate with and support Field Management, Operations and
PMO on all phases of new system installations and existing system
upgrade projects assigned to you
- Staging, programming and testing systems prior to
installation
- Coordinate and execute installation and service based tasks,
including network diagnosis, cable termination, equipment placement
and mounting, media testing, etc.
- Lead and manage daily tasks; drive and lead crews consisting of
1 to 10 technicians
- Integrate surveillance with access control systems
- Provide daily, weekly and monthly status reports to OPS and PMO
teams. Work with OPS and PMO teams to identify and create Change
Orders, Monitor and Control job/service activities and assure
jobs/service tickets are closed properly and expeditiously
Required Qualifications
- At least 5 to 7 years of experience with hands on participation
in technical security installations and/or maintenance, including
systems such as Vicon, OnSSI, Vivotek, NUUO, Cisco VSOM
- Have working knowledge and understanding of Access Control
hardware, Intrusion Detection systems, CCTV and IP Surveillance
equipment and systems
- Have working knowledge and understanding of basic
electronics
- Possess the ability to use diagnostic equipment/software and
established troubleshooting techniques to isolate network
deficiencies, equipment failures and operational anomalies
- Ability to read, interpret electrical and electromechanical
schematics and architectural drawings
- Communicate effectively with Design Engineers and other
staff
- Understands specs and capabilities of Sony, Pelco and Axis
cameras
- Able to install and mount camera brackets on different type of
walls and ceilings
- Able to pull and terminate copper cables
- Understands network structure, design, connectivity and IP
addresses
- Understands and follows safety guidelines
- Able to install software and scan network for devices
- Able to safely use ladders and operates scissor and
articulating lifts
- Good job management skills (attention to budget, materials,
constraints, etc.)
- Assign, configure ports and creates VLANs for Cisco or HP
switches (CCNA certification is preferred)
- Knowledge of access control systems such as Hirsch, PCSC and
AMAG
- Able to integrate surveillance with access control
systems
- Experience/knowledge of electronic monitoring systems for CCTV
and Access Control.
- Perform installation work as needed; including cabling,
infrastructure, pathways, terminations, testing, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant industry certification: (Occularis, VSOM, PCSC, NUUO,
Milestone XProtect Software, Cisco Video Surveillance Operations
Manager, Hirsch/Identiv, Brivo, etc.) desirable.
- Ability to provide leadership, accept responsibility, work
independently and set own goals in a professional manner
- IT Networking and computer applications
- Strong attention to detail, good documentation skills, ability
to write clear, concise project reports
- Ability to function with minimal instruction or supervision, or
as a part of larger team reporting to formal project
management
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proven troubleshooting skills
- Ability to quickly learn new systems
Compensation Range: -$35.00 - $40.00 hr. (Full-time) and a
comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and
vision; paid vacation and holidays; and a 401k matching
program.
