the Future! About this Position: - The Department Lead is
responsible for ensuring compliance of Honda products (Automobile,
Powersports, and Power Equipment) to safety-related regulations and
standards, which includes safety recalls, regulatory submissions,
and government requests. Responsibilities include:
- Manage Honda's reporting to NHTSA, CPSC and USCG for Honda
products (Auto, Powersports, and Power Equipment) for safety recall
submissions, recall completion reports, and regulatory compliance
reporting.
- Manage Honda's new model compliance information, compliance to
Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS), and coordination of
compliance testing with NHTSA's Office of Vehicle Safety Compliance
(OVSC).
- Manage Buying a Safer Car safety consumer information to NHTSA,
including New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) star ratings,
crashworthiness information, crash avoidance information and new
technology information. Manage document submission and coordination
of NCAP crash testing and ADAS verification testing.
- Manage Takata airbag inflator activity, including submission of
recall completion reports, submission of rupture claims,
communication with NHTSA on coordinated remedy order.
- Respond to AH-Law Technical Requests, PRO's publications
review, internal safety requests, and bi-annual SOP/QS
documentation review.
- Management and supervision of Product Safety Compliance
department (3 associates). Who we are seeking: Required Work
Experience:
- 5 years of leadership in a cross-functional, team
environment
- 5 years of technical product experience, preferably in the
Automotive or Motorcycle industry
- 5 years of relevant experience in product safety or regulatory
compliance Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or Automotive
Technology, or equivalent work experience Desired skills:
- Experience with regulatory compliance, safety standards, and
compliance testing
- Working knowledge of Auto and Motorcycle safety
systems/technology is a plus
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills
- Detail-oriented with high organizational, written, and verbal
communication skills
- Ability to manage and prioritize projects in a fast paced,
deadline-driven environment Additional Position Factors:

- Competitive Base Salary: $113,000 to $169,500 Pay will be based
on several variables that include, but not limited to geographic
location, work experience, education, etc.
