We operate development centers in Plymouth, Michigan; Southern California (Irvine, Carson & LA); Silicon Valley (San Jose and Palo Alto); Vancouver, British Columbia; and Surrey, England; as well as a manufacturing facility in Normal, Illinois.ResponsibilitiesWorking in fast pace environment for various charging product developmentBeing an owner of LED lighting development for both AC and DC chargersDefining charger lighting requirements such as technical, reliability, and then work on production supplier sourcing with purchasing teamResponsible of other mechanical component design from concept to production such as plastic, sheet metal, and internal wiring harnessesCreate 3D CAD models and 2D prints of components, and directing CAD designers to complete 2D printsRelease components in Enovia Systems, and BOM managementPerform GD&T and tolerance stack upsGenerate assembly instructions for prototype buildsUpdate component and assembly designs to improve quality, save part cost, and ease of manufacturingWork with prototype and production suppliers to capture all DFMsSupport manufacturing team to release production lines on timeResolve engineering issues and implement short- and long-term solutionsReport to management on development statusWork with Program Management to meet all deliverables in timeQualificationsBachelors degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering field.Minimum 7 years of professional work experience in automotive or consumer product designsKnowledge or experience on LED lighting development, and validationShould be familiar with sheet metal stamping, forging, and plastic injection molding processesAbility to work independently and manage several challenging projects simultaneouslyProduct Supply Chain ExperienceShall be familiar with SAE, UL, NEC, and IEC Standards and its certification processesProficient with CATIA V6 software including part design, assembly design, and draftingKnowledge of GD&T per ASME Y14.5.Proficient with Microsoft office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, Visio.Always maintains a positive and proactive attitudeEqual OpportunityRivian is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Prohibits Discrimination and Harassment of Any Kind: Rivian is committed to the principle of equal employment opportunity for all employees and to providing employees with a work environment free of discrimination and harassment.
