In this position, you will work closely with integrated product teams, performing power electronics and analog circuit design and providing test engineering automation support for development and production of our Microwave Power Module (MPM) products. Programs require effective coordination between analog and digital circuit design and software development team members.Responsibilitieswill include:Investigate, design and develop products for the high-voltage electronic power conditioner (EPC), integration of the EPC with the RF amplifier chain, and packaging of the MPM.Perform measurements for high-density switching power converters, compact magnetic components, power filters, feedback control loop measurements, and high-voltage circuits.Support production of switching high-voltage power supplies for MPMs, troubleshoot problems, and establish root cause and corrective actions.Provide technical support for yield issues and product modifications.Create electromagnetic models of hardware, including printed wiring assemblies.Provide detailed block diagrams, schematics, circuit design, thermal design, test access, module layout, routing instructions, connector selection, and timing analyses.Support design reviews for product requirements verification, and generate test plans and procedures.Produce technical reports, explaining objectives, approach, and results.Assist business capture with technical responses to proposals.Engage with management and project members for product requirement, cost, and schedule issues.Ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD security clearanceQualifications:At least nine years of experience in the design of switching power supplies processing up to several hundred watts or power.Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, physics, computer science, or mathematics is required. Master's degree preferred.Experience in debugging prototypes and testing analog or RF hardware assemblies.Experience with component electrical stress analysis and derating, worst-case circuit analysis for operating environments, and MIL-HDBK-217 reliability analysis is required.Working fluency with design and test methods for EMC (MIL-STD0461/462) is required.Experience with circuit simulation tools, such as LTSPICE or SIMetrix.Ability to design, evaluate and automate RF test measurements and microwave test instrumentation using C/C++, C# and/or LabView is desired.Familiarity with RF measurement equipment: signal generators, VNA, PNA, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and power meters.Familiarity with high voltage (6kV to 20kV) and safety practices.Must be able to work in a fast-paced production environment under tight schedule constraints.Strong technical writing and effective communication skills are needed.Please be aware many of our positions require the ability to obtain a security clearance.
