A national food and beverage company headquartered in the south bay has an immediate opening for a legal and compliance manager. The role will involve working with the company's different franchises. COMPLIANCE EXPERIENCE OUT OF A FOOD AND BEVERAGE COMPANY IS ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED (PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU DON'T HAVE THIS EXPERIENCE).
The role involves franchise compliance for the company's different locations and collaborating with other departments and identifying potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk. Will develop and implement corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues and provides general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.
Key Responsibilities & Duties

• 
  
• Ensuring franchise agreement are properly renewed, fee/payment collections, are up to date with current legislation. Ensure that franchisee understands and deploys/practices
  
  company systems and processes.

  • Works with outside attorneys to review and evaluate compliance issues/concerns within the organization and provides legal support for all regulatory, policy, litigation, licensing, and
    
    legislative matters.
    
    • 
      
    • Ensuring compliance with all licensing and permitting requirements.
      
    • Ensuring that franchisees maintain insurance that adequately protects both the franchisor and franchisee from claims.
      
    • Other duties as assigned by the President/CEO.
      
      Qualification & Competencies (Required):
      
      • 
        
      • Bachelor's degree in related field. Master's preferred.
        
      • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in related field.
        
      • General franchise knowledge and experience. Franchise management preferred.
        
      • Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point - Proficient to intermediate level.
        
      • Effective and proven management and interpersonal skills.
        
      • Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with people on all levels, in person and remotely.
        
      • Ability to lead, influence, and develop people as well as achieve results through others.
        
        There will be occasional travel out of state for meetings.
        For job requisitions posted to certain locations, Marcum Search is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range. This compensation range is specific to certain locations and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
        Salary range: $120-$140,000/year and full benefits.
