Description Providence is calling for a Radiology Technologist
(Per diem/Variable Shift) to work with Providence Little Company of
Mary Torrance Hospital in Torrance, CA Apply today! Applicants that

a Radiology Technologist who will perform a variety of radiographic
procedures at a skilled technical level requiring the ability to
apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnosis. Performs related
work as required. Is assigned to perform some special procedures,
which require the use of complex equipment (i.e., CT, MRI,
Ultrasound). Occasionally directs and supervises quality control in
the department. In this position you will:
- Perform and/or assists with radiographic and fluoroscopic
procedures according to approved department procedure manual
- Review exposed films for positioning, technique, identification
and validates quality. Prepares films for interpretation by a
radiologist in a timely manner
- Demonstrate complete working knowledge of all radiographic
equipment within the department (i.e., x-ray, surgical, portable
equipment)
- Demonstrate correct and adequate anatomic positioning skills
and uses film markers properly
- Adjust technical factors in proportion to patient and body part
being examined while minimizing radiation
- Provide radiation protection to patient, staff and
self-according to prescribed safety standards
- Process and develops x-ray film and returns cassettes to proper
location
- Assist in training and guidance of radiology students
- Review patient questionnaire and request for physician notes
and/or special instructions
- Consult with Radiologist and patient if necessary to assure
safety and appropriateness
- Verify patient identification by verbal communication, ID band,
etc.
- Recognize emergency situations, initiates code and administers
aid as needed
- Assist with ordering and stocking of supplies and
equipment
- Keep room/work area neat, orderly, and prepared with supplies
necessary to complete exams
- Willingly performs other related duties outside immediate work
area as assigned or required (i.e., filing, transport,
clerical)
- DOCUMENTATION/INFORMATION MANAGEMENT:
- Record pertinent patient information and completes all
paperwork as required and assists in maintaining files. Sort's
patient files and reports timely, accurate and concise per
department policies
- Demonstrate working knowledge of hospital information system,
computer-based systems, and Meditech
- Demonstrate awareness of legal issues and compliance in respect
to patient care
- Maintain complete confidentiality of all patient and hospital
related information
- Secure and handle patient records maintaining patient
confidentiality with respect to patient and family rights
- LEADERSHIP/SUPERVISION:
- Lead by example in demonstrated work ethic.
- Attendance: Report to work each regularly scheduled workday.
Accurately records all work time including meal periods
- Punctuality: Ready for work at precise starting time and
continues working until scheduled departure time. Returns on time
from all meal periods
- Appearance: Projects a professional image, follows the hospital
dress code policy and/or department requirements. Wears hospital
name badge at all times on duty
- General Work Habits: Readily accepts work assignments in a
positive manner. Performs work that is accurate, neat and
consistent. Documentation is legible
- Assist and provide orientation/training of new employees and
students Required qualifications for this position includes:
- Associate's Degree in Radiological Technology -or- equivalent
in approved A.M.A. program
- Valid California State Certification License in unlimited
diagnostic radiology and fluoroscopy services
- New Graduates with valid CRT must obtain Fluoroscopy License
within 90 days of hire
- American Heart Association - Basic Life Support (AHA-BLS)
Certification
- Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologist License
- Demonstrate working knowledge of hospital information system,
