Job Description:
Our client is a leading global provider of advanced engineered
solutions for the aerospace and transportation industries, and they
are seeking a Director, Quality Compliance and Special Processto be
located at their headquarters in Torrance, CA.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Director Quality Compliance & Special Process is responsible to
ensure compliance with applicable Customer requirements and
Aerospace Industry Standards applicable to our products. This
includes for assisting in planning and implementing the Company's
Quality Systems strategy, including complaint handling (ECL) and
analysis, documentation, training, organizational planning,
implementation of technology, and developing and implementing
tactical plans to meet Company and Corporate objectives. This
individual assists in implementing policies to ensure compliance
with applicable Customer Requirements and Industry Standards /
Specifications. Plans, coordinates, and directs Quality Systems and
Customer Programs such as Airbus GRAMS, Airbus Supplier
Requirements (ASR), IPCA and Boeing Technical Process Assessments,
FAA, EASA, Regulatory meetings as well as the Nadcap Special
Process Program to ensure products and processes are consistent
with established standards by performing the following duties
personally or through collaboration with others within the
organization.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Serve as Liasson with PRI and administer Nadcap Special Process
Program within the Division.
- Assists the sites to design and develop procedures and
processes for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and
reliability data associated with the Quality Systems, Nadcap Audit
Preparations for Special Processes such as Heat Treat, Chemical
Processing, Non-Destructive Testing, Fluid Systems Distribution,
Non-conventional Machining and Material Testing as defined on the
Performance Review Institute's (PRI's) eAuditNet Portal
- Coordinate compliance with Customer Requirements & Programs
such as Airbus Supplier Requirements (ASR)
- Support HFS Commercial and Engineering teams with Contract and
PO review as it relates to quality system requirements
- Assure appropriate processes are in place to file and report
Customer Concerns / Nadcap Status / Product Integrity Audit Results
in a timely manner and report the status of these processes to
management on a weekly / monthly basis.
- Meet established schedules and maintain an up-to-date knowledge
in the techniques of quality, and in the company products and
process technologies including Customer Requirements and Industry
Standards / Specifications as well as all other applicable
worldwide standards and requirements.
- Direct resources and activities of the Quality System functions
related to Complaints Management, Document Control, Identification,
Customer Programs and 3rd Party Audit Preparations.
- Evaluate contents of reports from Quality System processes and
work with quality assurance department heads on action plans to
address discrepancies and drive continuous improvement.
- Participate with manufacturing sites to establish, delineate,
and review organizational policies, to coordinate functions and
operations between departments, and to establish responsibilities
and procedures for attaining quality objectives.
- Review technical problems and procedures of departments and
implement solutions to problems or changes in procedures.
- Monitor field complaints, quality systems and special process
data.
- Assure implementation of risk mitigation actions as required
and maintain documentation accordingly.
- Assist the Vice President Global Quality Assurance for the
Division in developing plans and policies to continuously improve
manufacturing processes and increase product quality and
delivery.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in a scientific and/or engineering discipline
preferred, or a bachelor's degree (non-technical) with 10 years
equivalent work experience.
Experience and Background:
- 10 years related experience.
- Expertise with the Nadcap Process and a knowledge of Airbus
GRAMS / IPCA / SQIP Program Requirements together with a Working
Knowledge of the Airbus Supplier Requirements (ASR)
Program.
- In-depth knowledge of quality and manufacturing systems,
processes and applicable Customer Requirements and Industry
Standards / Specifications as well as a Practical knowledge of
Quality Systems is required.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills and the
ability to effectively communicate with internal and external
personnel at all levels of the organization are required.
- Working knowledge and experience in managing third party
inspections and negotiating with 3rd parties on compliance issues
is required.
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United
States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at
the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this
position.

vacation.The salary range for this position is $150Kto $200K.
This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms
Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines

'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
