Summary/Objective The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for meeting sales goals and assisting the Store Manager with day-to-day operations, product placement, client service, employee supervision, and loss prevention. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operate cash registers, manage financial transactions, and balance drawersMeet sales targetsCoach and motivate staff to meet sales goalsProvide outstanding customer service to all patrons Ensures store and stockroom are well organized Assist in visual presentation standards and ensure the store is replenished at all timesMaintain compliance with Retail Operations Policy and ProceduresAdhere to and enforce company handbook policiesParticipate in store opening and closing proceduresManage merchandise processing, including tracking of company assets through inventory controlAssist with staff scheduling and trainingAssist with the protection of all company assets, controlling internal and external lossAbility to work nights, weekends, and holidays, based on the needs of the businessOther duties as requiredTravel This position requires limited travel (0-25%) Qualifications and Requirements High School diplomaMinimum of three years of Retail Sales experience; one year of management experience Must be able to work 40 hours per week; weekends, nights and holidays as needed.Must work a minimum of two closing shifts per weekDemonstrated selling skillsExcellent communication, organizational and time-management skillsAbility to lead and motivate a teamThe ability to stand and walk for extended periods of timeCapable of lifting up to 40 poundsProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OutlookThis job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of all activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
