consult with the Management Team on strategic planning; manage corporate policies, compensation, benefits, employee relations, training, health and safety, and serve as a link between the Management Team and employees.Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesOffice AdministrationMonitor all legislation relevant to the Company (employment standards, occupation health and safety, human rights, etc.) to ensure that the Company is compliant; conduct investigations and represent the Company at hearings.Establish a historical reference for the office by outlining procedures for protection, retention, and record disposal; design a filing and retrieval system for human resource records, retaining past and current records.Enforce management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures; ensure that personnel policies are up to date and maintain a regularly updated Company Handbook outlining said guidelines.Coordinate the facilitation and management of employee training and individual career development with the Director of Engineering and Technology (DET) and the CFO.Manage Employee Benefits & InsuranceStudy and assess benefit needs and trends; obtain, negotiate, and administer health and 401K policies, company insurance, and other employee benefits and contract bids; investigate annual changes and deliver cost/benefit analysis to support CFO recommendations to the Management Team.Support benefit communication during open enrollments and serve as liaison between insurance broker and employees.Process and manage Leaves of Absence requests.Manage all workers' compensation claims for the company.Complete all requests for EDD unemployment claims.Payroll Preparation and AdministrationOversee all payroll functions to ensure that employees are paid in a timely and accurate manner.Create and manage a pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys and recommend pay structure revisions.Issue annual W2s.Recruitment and HiringPartner with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization's human resource and talent strategy, particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.Establish a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; actively maintain and handle the recruitment process by updating job requirements, preparing job descriptions, posting ads and managing the hiring process for all positions; counsel managers on candidate selection; conduct and analyze exit interviews; and recommend changes.Onboard and orient new employees and establish regular touch points to ensure successful integration into the company.Training and Development Work alongside the DET and CFO to develop a professional classification system and promotional plan for each employee and methodology for assessing growth along that path; apply competitive analysis of employee salaries and benefits.Distribute approved training courses as they are made available; work with the DET and CFO to ensure completion of all approved courses and proper knowledge dissemination is adhered to.Employer-Employee RelationsPlan, implement, and evaluate employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices.Ensure planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; schedule management conferences with employees; hear and resolve employee grievances; and counsel employees and supervisors.Lead formal bi-annual performance review planning and proceedings; organize and compile written deliverables for the reviewee that includes management feedback and articulated goals and expectations for future growth; establish methodology for supporting employees in their growth endeavors.Facilitate and lead bi-annual employee 1:1s and employee engagement surveys.Promote and Maintain Company CultureCreate and ensure a safe working environment at all times, including staying up to date with all COVID-19 requirements and ensuring the company's compliance with all federal, state, and local guidelines.Lead CID's Culture Committee (C3) to implement and encourage a positive work environment for the entire team.Additional ResponsibilitiesAssist with the design and implementation of company marketing efforts as it pertains to the facilitation and advertisement of company events, content creation, and posting to our social media as needed.Post and distribute company holiday schedule annually.Update consultant CV's annually, at minimum, to include any professional enhancements obtained in the prior year and ensure distribution in the appropriate venues.Interested in hearing more?
