a real manufacturing environment. What You’ll Do as an Engineering
Intern: As an Engineering Intern at Interplastic’s Hawthorne plant,
you will gain direct exposure to manufacturing operations,
engineering processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
You’ll work closely with engineers, plant leaders, and
cross-functional teams to support projects that impact production
efficiency, quality, and safety. This internship is designed to
provide practical engineering experience while helping you explore
a career in manufacturing and materials science. What You Can
Expect to Do in This Role: Support engineering projects related to
manufacturing processes, equipment, and production improvements.
Assist with data collection, analysis, and documentation to support
engineering and operational decisions. Participate in plant floor
activities, including process observations and troubleshooting.
Help create or update engineering documentation, SOPs, work
instructions, or reports. Contribute to continuous improvement,
lean manufacturing, or safety initiatives. Collaborate with
production, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams. Learn
about composite materials, chemical manufacturing processes, and
plant operations. Build professional skills in problem-solving,
communication, teamwork, and time management. What We Are Looking
For: Required Qualifications: Currently enrolled in a college or
university pursuing a degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical,
Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field). Interest in
manufacturing, process engineering, or industrial operations.
Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
Willingness to learn and work in a team-based, plant environment.
Basic computer proficiency (Excel, Word, email, etc.). Preferred
(but Not Required): Prior internship, co-op, or hands-on project
experience. Coursework related to manufacturing, process
engineering, or materials science. Curiosity, initiative, and a
