Innovate to solve the world's most important challengesThe Turbomachinery and Heat Exchanger Analysis and Design group within the Mechanical Systems and Components (MS&C) directorate is responsible for the design, development and analysis of Environmental Control System (ECS) turbomachinery and heat exchangers, as well as electric traction drive motors. The successful applicant will be responsible for stress, vibration, and heat transfer analyses. Responsibilities include providing technical expertise on a variety of projects and programs. You will use your expert knowledge of engineering discipline and standards, processes and tools to ensure compliance to customer and program requirements. Other responsibilities include communicating with Project engineering teams, conduction of design reviews, presentations to internal and external customers and contributing to department process improvement initiatives.Key Responsibilities-------------- Perform stress analysis using complex finite element & classical book calculation methods, & support testing-------------- Perform heat transfer analysis in practice and theory (analytical correlations and complex finite element methods) and related topics in thermodynamics, single and multi-phase flows, and energy systems-------------- Provide technical oversight to global engineering teams across time zones-------------- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers-------------- Requirements validation-------------- Project and product compliance-------------- Risk management-------------- Process Development-------------- Root Cause and Corrective Action--U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTSDue to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorizationCompensation & Benefits:Non-IncentiveSalary Range $110,000-$165,000For benefits information, please visit--https://careers.honeywell.com/us/en/honeywell-benefits.--Current employees may visit HR Direct.Hybrid 3 days in/2 days outYOU MUST HAVE-------------- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or closely related field with emphasis in heat transfer or thermal sciences & stress analysis-------------- Minimum of 8 years of experience performing thermal & stress analysis on turbomachinery, gas turbine engines, motors and/or other similar components and systems-------------- Proficiency in linear static, nonlinear/elasto-plastic, fatigue (HCF & LCF), modal, shock, harmonic, random vibration, & crack growth analyses-------------- Proficiency in all modes of heat transfer, thermodynamics, thermal sciences, and two-phase thermophysics-------------- Strong working knowledge of ANSYS finite element software & classical hand calculation methodsWE VALUE-------------- Team Player-------------- Ability to mentor others-------------- Significant experience with new product development in a highly regulated environment-------------- Ability to analyze and solve complex and challenging problems-------------- Effectively operate in a matrix organization-------------- Track record of successful contribution to products & projects-------------- Keen mindset to envision process improvements and execution of such initiatives-------------- Excellent written and oral communication skillsAdditional Information
