The role---
simplehuman is seeking a Product Quality Engineer to join our QA team. - - The ideal candidate should have a background in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering. - This role will help our quality engineering efforts for New Product Introduction (NPI) and Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) over the entire product life cycle. - - Our products are consumer and consumer electronics in nature, and the ideal candidate should have some experience in these fields. - This role will be a crucial Quality engineer for our company, and will play an important piece to our product development and sustaining engineering process. - S/he will develop and execute exploratory and automated product testing to ensure product quality during new product development as well as existing product improvements. - S/he will handle multiple projects and deadlines, allocate resources, and manage the QA team. - The ideal candidate must possess strong communication skills and the ability to work well with other engineers and program managers to solve problems in a fast-paced environment. -This is a full-time position based in our Torrance, CA office. - This is NOT a remote position. -
Responsibilities:

• 
  
• Manage all product quality from NPI to sustaining
  
• Create test plan and perform testing prior to product production release
  
• Work with Research and Development team to validate new designs and technologies
  
• Evaluate hardware and software conformance and performance
  
• Develop and improve test methods and equipment
  
• Analyze testing data to assist design engineers in decision-making
  
• Compile and write training materials on quality control activities
  
• Evaluate product performance for continuous improvements
  
• 10% travel to Asia (post-COVID) -

  • 
    
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
    
  • 1-3 years of mechanical engineering, test engineering, product design, quality, or reliability experience
    
  • Highly motivated, problem solver with leadership skills
    
  • Knowledge of injection molding and sheet metal fabrication
    
  • Capable of understanding mechanical drawings
    
  • Some software -testing experience is a plus
    
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
    
  • Strong project management skills
    
  • Excellent communication skills
