is looking for a Principal ElectronicsEngineer to join our growing
team in Southern California. As Principal Electronics Engineer, you
will lead hardware architecture and design for our new Advanced
Development Team. This role will be responsible for development of
embedded processing and computing electronics systems to meet new
and emerging requirements for airborne and ground vehicle

make our company even better. What You'll Bring to the Table as a
Principal Electronics Engineer:
- Significant expertise (12+ years) in Electrical Engineering
design and development
- B.S./M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or
related field from an ABET accredited program
- Project leadership while designing products for
manufacturability from start to finish on an integrated product
team
- Direct experience (5+ years) in the design of embedded systems
hardware and firmware for high reliability or safetycritical
systems (Military/Aerospace)
- Demonstrated full ownership of prior ruggedized circuit board
development including requirements definition, architecture
development, component selection, and schematic capture for Mixed
Signal Analog and Digital Electronic hardware designs for military
and/or avionics products
- Strong track-record of direct collaboration with PCB layout
designers, embedded firmware developers, software, systems,
assemblers, technicians, test, and all other requisite technical
and non-technical functions to deliver a compliant product
- In-depth, practical, hands-on experience designing and
troubleshooting complex circuits - hardware and firmware - to the
component level
- A history of developing real time, deterministic firmware to
control, monitor, and supervise embedded electronics hardware in
safety critical military and industrial systems
- Effective communication skills (oral and written) including
generating engineering design drawings/documentation and presenting
design progress during major project milestones (e.g., SRR, PDR,
CDR)
- Strong experience using Altium designer
- U.S. Citizenship is required-Must be willing and able to obtain
a Security Clearance or have an active Secret Security ClearanceIn
addition, the following are pluses:
- Mission Computer/Graphics Processor Unit (GPU) experience
- VPX backplane board design experience
- Experience with standard communication interfaces such as I2C,
SPI, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, USB 2.0/3.0, Ethernet,
Gigabit-Ethernet, CANbus, MIL-STD-1553, ARINC-429, and
ARINC-818.
- A history and understanding of DO-254 / DO-178 design
developmentAs a Principal Electronics Engineer, you will:
- Lead hardware architecture and design for new embedded
processing and computing electronics systems
- Lead the design and development of electronic systems from
requirements definition, through schematic capture, board layout,
prototyping, troubleshooting, design optimization and design for
manufacturing
- Oversee design validation and verification testing of embedded
hardware and firmware systems, identifying and correcting problem
areas and design deficiencies while maintaining engineering
documentation of the development and optimization process
- Prepare technical write-ups and sections for proposals, project
reports, and SDRLs
- Support the development and implementation of embedded firmware
on the designed hardware
- Interface with our internal multidisciplinary engineering team,
management, and external stakeholders including customers, design
engineering representatives, and contractors to ensure hardware
design quality and customer satisfaction
- Participate in internal hardware design reviews and code
reviews for firmware
- Perform hands-on requirements verification testing in the lab
to produce and finalize documentation
- Develop and review the technical data package for assigned
projects
- Mentor junior colleagues and help troubleshoot problems across
multiple projects across multiple platforms

salary for this position will vary based on your skills,
