Job Description:
General Summary:With minimum supervision, responsible for
implementing initial quality plans on products and programs.
Provides support and direction in the implementation and
administration of quality systems. Analyzes the effectiveness of
the quality system and coordinates quality related issues with
customers, suppliers, and other functional disciplines.Specific
Responsibilities:
- Develop and suppliers and help them establish quality systems,
procedures, inspection plans, quality performance trends,
statistical plans and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conducts capability assessments and process validations to
support supplier selection activities
- Perform Supplier Purchase Orders to identify quality
requirements to ensure customer requirement are met. Ensure that
all documentation, Certification/Inspection Reports, making,
packaging, source inspection and applicable Supplier Source
Approvals are identified and acceptable.
- Review and maintain all assigned customer quality documents and
specifications.
- Interface and/or work closely with Quality Assurance,
Inspection, Design and Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing,
Purchasing and Shipping personnel on procedural issues involving
design, methods, tooling, cost and other areas involved in the
control of product quality.
- Participate in the development and implementation of quality
related policies and procedures based on corporate and
government/customer requirements, as well as in conjunction with
AS9100 requirements.
- Participates in MRB (Material Review Board) and provides
material review dispositions for non-conformances. Analyzes
non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective
actions. Recommends corrective actions to our supply chain to
address non-conformances
- Make recommendations to management on the implementation of
process improvements for product provided by supply base.
- Act as liaison for the company in coordinating and resolving
customer and supplier complaints/concerns, relative to quality
performance, investigations, system audits and corrective
actions.
- Participate (as assigned) on Process Improvement Teams or other
Continuous Improvement Groups.
- Prepare periodic and special reports on supplier quality
statistics and other related quality issues.
- Review supplier planning (work order), methods and process
specifications as it relates to assuring product quality.
- Issue and follow up with Supplier Corrective Action Request in
a timely manner, by working with supplier to investigate and
determine root cause and corrective/preventive measures to
eliminate deficiencies. Coordinate team efforts to resolve issues
and monitor trends.
- Perform supplier audits/surveys, where applicable, to assure
compliance to specific quality/customer requirements. Audit and
validate Statistical Process Control data and procedures for
assigned suppliers.
- Initiate Corrective Action Requests and monitors follow-up for
effective closure and elimination of identified deficiencies.
- Conduct training for suppliers as required on various Quality
topics and methods.
- Ensure completion of activities within compliance and
on-time
- Help develop procedures and processes within broader
protocols
- Performs other tasks of equal or lesser skill as required. May
mentor less experienced SQE's and Inspection personnel, as
required.Experience and Background:
- Excellent communication skills. Self-starting, minimal
supervision required.
- Knowledge of Problem-solving skills and tools (5 Why/8D/etc) .
Experience implementing tools with suppliers to resolve issues
- Understand basic metal processing, auditing principals, First
Articles, sampling plans, SPC, MSA, FMEA, PFMEA
- Ability to speak clearly and effectively with managers,
supervisors, managers, customers and vendors.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out
instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete
variables in standardized situations.
Basic Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree from four-year college in a technical
discipline
- Minimum three (3) years Supplier and/or Quality Engineering
experience working with quality systems, preferred in an Aerospace
Environment
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete
variables in standardized situations.
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United
States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at
the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this
position.
- This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms
Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S person status. ITAR defines
U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e.
