Entry level General Accounting (78167-1) Job Description:

This position is responsible for recording accounting transactions, providing assistance in all aspects of accounting functions and supporting Management and assisting with other functions as necessary.
--- Handles Passenger Revenue Accounting Functions- by reviewing sales reports and auditing tickets issued through the designated system; by processing the agent debit/credit memos and refunds accordingly; by making monthly closing entries; by handling revenue accounting inquiries from travel agents or other branches and departments within the company; by handling credit card chargeback settlements, by assisting in the preparation of periodic reports, such as tax, passenger sales/refunds reports, etc. on a timely basis.
--- Handles Cargo Revenue Accounting Functions- by maintaining inventory; by reviewing finalized airway bills from all stations and sending the file; by checking dispute reports from the e-billing system, reporting back any adjustments, rebilling, and making the necessary adjustments in the system; by processing agents' sales adjustments and reconciling bank accounts and contracted companies.
--- Performs General Accounting Functions- by reviewing, recording, and filing accounting documents for local offices; by preparing check issuance requests and processing them in a timely manner; by maintaining company fixed assets; by preparing the G/L entries and performing monthly closing entries; by assisting in the preparation; monitoring of local budgets on an on-going basis; by preparing reports, and by performing any other accounting duties as directed by Coordinators, Supervisors and Managers.
--- Assists with Administrative Duties (for all accounting positions) - by accurately filing documents and maintaining records; and by performing any other administrative duties as directed by Supervisors and Managers.

Required Skills/Knowledge:
--- Basic accounting knowledge - General Accounting: required, Revenue Accounting: preferred
--- Ability to operate a 10-key calculator by touch
--- Excellent interpersonal skills
--- Organizational skills with attention to detail
--- General accounting experience preferred
--- Airline revenue experience preferred (Only Revenue Accounting Position)
--- Strong computer knowledge preferred
--- Ability to write reports and business correspondence in English required
--- Japanese bilingual preferred
Work Conditions:
--- Full-time position, non-exempt
