Job Description:

Vaco Los Angeles is looking for a Staff Accountant to immediately join the team of one of our clients located near Torrance, Ca. The Staff Accountant will be accountable for overseeing aspects of accounting operations of the company, including preparing financial reports, maintaining system of accounting records, and implementing strong internal controls.RESPONSIBILITES

• Maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts
• Preparing journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations and assisting with monthly close processes
• Contributing to the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections
• Prepares weekly management reports and assists in ad hoc analysis as required
• Manages the accounts payable process and ensures proper expense coding
• Manages the expense reporting process
• Prepares and files sales and use tax and property tax returns
• Assist maintaining documentation for accounts receivable, treasury and conducting internal audits
• Monitors processing of invoices
• Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Meeting processing and reporting deadlines
• Fixed Asset management and tracking
• Responding to information requests, reviewing financial statements, and assisting with audits
• Keeping informed about current legislation relating to finance and accounting
• Ensuring compliance with GAAP
• Assists with company and department finance initiatives
• Performs other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's Degree with a finance or accounting emphasis
  • 2+ years of accounting experience
  • Comprehensive GL accounting experience required
  • Strong Excel and accounts payable/general ledger systems technical competences
  • Possess multi-tasking skills with ability to prioritize and manage various projects within tight deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving skills, accounting principles knowledge, research and resolution abilities, data analysis skills
  • Effective organizational, documentation and time management skills
