Assistant Property Manager/Bookkeeper

Job Description:

We are looking for an organized, motivated, and detail oriented assistant property manager & bookkeeper to join our small family office to help us manage a portfolio of properties and businesses. This position reports to the owner and his son where you will perform administrative and organizational duties such as communicating with tenants, collecting rent, doing basic bookkeeping, organizing property viewings, overseeing facility maintenance and repairs, and regular property inspections.

*Essential Functions and Responsibilities: *

* Preparing and scheduling property viewings, conducting property tours and interviewing prospective tenants.
* Addressing and resolving residents' questions, concerns, and complaints in a timely manner.
* Processing applications and conducting credit checks
* Collecting rent, dealing with late payments, and handling operating expenses.
* Managing budgets, accounts, rent collections, and tenant notices.
* Maintaining organized and updated resident files and records.
* Inspecting occupied and vacated property conditions and coordinating maintenance activities.
* Reporting any problems or issues to ownership.
* Terminating leases and initiating eviction proceedings.

*Requirements and Qualifications: *

* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Good problem-solving and time management skills.
* Highly detail-oriented.
* Strong organizational and stress management skills.
* Proficiency in Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Drive)
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and property management software.
* Proficiency with familiar accounting software like Quickbooks Online
* Proficiency with Property Management software.
* Ability to learn quickly and balance multiple tasks.
* Valid CA drivers license.
* Reliable transportation to and from properties.

*Education and Experience: *

* High school diploma/GED (Associate degree preferred).
* 2+ years of property management experience.
* 2+ years of bookkeeping experience.
* Experience with DoorLoop management software is a plus!

\*All required travel from office to properties in personal vehicle will be reimbursed at $0.45c a mile.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $52,000.00 per year
